Hi, I’m Amanda, the Owner and Lead Designer behind Flower Language.

My love for flowers and gardening began when I was small enough to be crawling around in my grandmothers garden. She always kept fresh flowers in the house, and would send me outside to help her pick and arrange them.

This formative experience is what grew my love for lush, exuberant, and often fragrant, garden inspired designs. It taught me to believe in the power of flowers to transform the atmosphere of a place, even just a humble old farmhouse. From the simple joy of having fresh flowers on your breakfast table, to the magic and celebration of a statement installation on your wedding day, life is so much richer with flowers.

At Flower Language, we are committed to using the freshest, local, in season blooms, and sustainable mechanics to tell your beautiful and unique story through flowers. As an avid gardener, I love to incorporate little special pieces from my own garden into my work.

I came up with the name for Flower Language after learning that during Victorian times, people would send each other secret messages with flowers, and this was so popular that there were multiple flower dictionaries published at the time, decoding the messages behind each stem. While relying on these dictionaries for specific meanings has fallen out of fashion, I still absolutely love the idea that we as humans send messages and attach meaning with flowers.

Ritual and ceremony is such core part of our human experience that I feel absolutely honored to help set the tone for each and every clients event. I can’t wait to help you bring your flower dreams to life!

“It is rare to find an artist whose medium is floral design. With. a gifted eye for color, texture and composition, Amanda embodies such artistry. Her talents set her apart from the ordinary or predictable and raise her to a design level of her own.” -K.W.
